32 recipients of the 65th Annual Peabody Awards were presented with awards on June 5th, 2006 at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York City. The winners were chosen by the Peabody board as the best in electronic media for the year 2005. Jon Stewart emceed. Recipients included WNET, Independent Television Service, Red House Entertainment, WWL-TV, WLOX-TV, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, KNBC, KCNC, KCET, KMEX-TV, and Fox Television Studios, among others. Winning shows included Battlestar Galactica, Classical Baby, South Park, House, Boston Legal, American Masters: No Direction Home—Bob Dylan, Children of Beslan, and Viva Blackpool.
