The program explores the life, music and influence of Johann Sebastian Bach on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of his birth. Through the use of prose, poetry, and personal testimonies by leading musicians and artists, both the words and the music meld into a program of stunning appeal. It celebrates, it informs, and it entertains. Producer Norman Morris and CBS Radio Technician Henry Lenz deserve considerable kudos for this excellent program which was broadcast as part of the CBS News’ NEWSMARK series.
