Second Sunday has shown continued exceptional skill and understanding of the use of radio to probe deeply into the social skill and understanding of the use of radio to probe deeply into the social issues of the day and relating them to the audience. It has done this in a manner that creates understanding and motivates action to help solve these problems. Throughout the year, Second Sunday has dealt with issues ranging from world attitudes toward our country that were called “timely and of important value to all Americans” to programs dealing with the problems of the aged. Such programs pointed to the need for a change in national attitudes. In recognition for this continuing excellence, a Peabody Award for Radio Public Service.
