Personal Award: Dr. Leonard Reiffel for “The World Tomorrow”

WEEI Radio

A Peabody Award for the most distinguished education program in radio goes to Dr. Leonard Reiffel, Science Consultant and host of The World Tomorrow, which was originated at station WEEI of Boston in March 1964, and which is presently sponsored by the Raytheon Company. Officially, Dr. Reiffel is the Science Consultant for NASA for life on the moon and recently has been providing valuable advice to the director of the Apollo program. Unofficially he is being listened to by laymen six days a week throughout New England because of his extraordinary ability to explain, in five-minute capsules, intricate scientific projects in vivid and meaningful languages. He provides a bridge of understanding in our nuclear age. In recognition, a Peabody Award for radio education.
